The Tomdinsky district was formed in 1928 and borders on the Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the northeast, the Konimekh district of the Navoi region in the southeast, the Uchkuduk region in the west and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the north in the center at 237.5 km adjoins the state border.
